PRACTICE: Deciding What You Can and Can’t Control

Think about the stressful situation you’re facing. Consider different aspects of the situation, and list them in a journal or on a separate piece of paper. If they’re mostly under your control, write them under “Things I Can Control.” If they’re mostly not under your control, write them under “Things I Can’t Control.” If you’re not sure, write them under “Not Sure.”

For example, if you’re facing stress at work because of a demanding boss, you might create the following lists.
